I am an Associate Professor of Numerical Analysis in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna. My institutional webpage on the UniBO website can be found at this link.
I am also a member of (AM)^2 (Alma Mater Research Center on Applied Mathematics) and ARCES (Advanced Research Center on Electronic Systems 'Ercole De Castro').
I am actively involved in the COST Action CA23134 POLYTOPO - Topological Textures in Condensed Matter, as Leader of WG3 (Textures in Three Dimensions), member of the Core Group, and member of the Management Committee for Italy.
My main research interest is the numerical analysis of partial differential equations. In particular, I am interested in fundamental questions in the analysis of finite element methods, in the design and analysis of structure-preserving schemes for (nonlinear) PDEs in materials science and engineering (e.g., in liquid crystal theory, micromagnetism, nonlinear elasticity, and spintronics), and in the development of numerical methods for uncertainty quantification and model order reduction.
